Magic Wand #1: Gratitudes

Sometimes when you're feeling down, it can be hard to pull yourself back up.

This is especially true when your mind might be fixating on everything that’s going wrong in your life.  

When this happens, we have two magic wands that can help.

The first magic wand is gratitudes.

Gratitudes are simple, fast and very effective at changing our mental and energetic state.

You can even use gratitudes when you’re in physical or emotional pain.

The key to gratitudes is to not take them too seriously and not spend a lot of time trying to get the 'right' ones.  Instead, just let them just start to roll off your tongue with no thinking at all.

Let's take some examples.

Say you're in physical pain--your foot hurts.  Start off with gratitudes as follows:

Wow, my arms feel great.  It feels wonderful to breathe in clean air.  My chair is quite comfortable.  My clothes are soft and warm.  I'm grateful I have plenty of food to eat.  I'm grateful my car runs great.  I'm grateful I have a smartphone.  I have a great laptop.  I'm grateful my friends care about me...

After 5 to 10 gratitude statements, I find myself really starting to open up and they start pouring out of me like an avalanche.  Within a couple of minutes, my mood completely changes.

If you're in emotional distress--say somebody spoke disrespectfully to you--the technique works just as well.  Start with something that's not a problem:

My dog loves me.  I love my plants.  My work is great.  My aunt always sees the best in me.  And so on and so on.

Practice gratitudes for two minutes a day and we guarantee your mood will shift significantly no matter what’s going on in your life!

You can even be in gratitude for your beloved eating the last of your favorite Häagen-Dazs Mint Chip ice cream.  Oops!--Sorry Lynetta!  Keep working those gratitudes!

It’s amazing how this simple exercise can get you off of the stuck broken record of negativity!  Try it it really works.
