After you have watched the Video about Marks Journey, we have added a supportive guide to help you in leaving your religion.
Lynetta Ann Avery will be your Guide:
Stages of Leaving your Religion
Secretly thinking/planning on leaving
In process of leaving
Left and lonely--what to replace it with
Try on new things. Check out Meetups in your area, hiking, biking, game nights and other interests you have.
When you first leave you may feel trepidation about trying on new things. Remember that life is your buffet. You get to choose what you like and what you don’t like.
If you choose something and it turns out feeling “yucky” no worries, just chuck it into the composting pile.
Take what is super “yummy” and incorporate it into your new life.
As you gain more confidence in your ability to select what feels in alignment with your values you can “try on” new things.
Being in Alignment
Have you ever been to a chiropractor? They are masters at feeling along the spine and seeing where you are out of alignment. A Chiropractor will ask you questions like:
Do you feel pain, tension or stiffness in your neck or back?
Are you able to get comfortable quickly when you go to bed?
Are you getting up in the night because of pain?
Do you have pain on one side of your body and not the other?
Are you easily fatigued?
Do you feel old beyond your years?
Are there things that you are no longer able to do?
Is getting up from a sitting position difficult?
Are you easily winded (short of breath)?
Is your digestion sluggish?
Are you having headaches?
Do you have allergies?
Do you have recurring infections?
Those are questions that you ask about your body when your feeling out of alignment. Next we will take a deeper look at being out of alignment Spiritually.
One of the symptoms is being:
We all get tired, but this one goes bone deep. Your whole soul feels tired. This can happen when we are not living in alignment with our purpose, or when we are being inauthentic about something. These blind spots take a lot of life-force energy to compensate for, and you will likely feel a surge of energy once you begin to address and mend them.
(By the way, we all have these – no shame allowed!)
If you are in alignment life begins to flow with Grace and Ease. You feel Grounded and Centered. Your choices come from deep within your Soul. You know that you have chosen well. Your heart sings, you have a skip in your step! You feel more authentic and real.
In support of your transition from Religion to Spiritual Alignment, we provide a 30 Day Detox from Indoctrination. Begin it with enthusiasm!
30 Day Detox from Indoctrination
Get out your journal and answer these questions when you have some alone time:
- Why do you want to leave your religion?
- Who are you? Are in a strict confined religion. You either were raised in it or you chose it. Your considering you want out.
- What is it about it?
- Why did you choose religion if it was not from birth?
- What were you looking for?
- If you were born into your religion, why did you stay as your grew older?
- Did you find your answers in religion.
- Did you see similarities in your family and the God of your religion?
- Did you want a God who would love you?
- And did you discover an angry vengeful God?
- Are you still in the religion and your reading this in secret?
The first step is questioning everything you have been taught.
This was my first step to realizing the inconsistencies of my childhood religion.
I looked at the theme of the Bible from Genesis to Revelations.
I found that consistently, Love is the foundation behind every Scripture.
Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples
You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down.20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
Look at the fruits of the people in your religion. Do they truly Love one another?
In the first week make your list of questions about your religion. You can look within your religion for the answers or begin to look outside the religion for answers.
This is tricky since your training is to never listen to anyone outside of the Religion.
That this world is full of “lies” created by Satan, Demons and “worldly” people.
(I am speaking from the context of being raised as a Jehovah’s Witness.)
If your coming from a different religious background then change the words to fit your needs.
Begin to trust how you feel internally when you hear something that “rings true” to you. Try on something new with discernment. Listen for what feels “good” internally. When you feel good then you know you are in alignment.
After you have your questions about your religion, make a request from the Universe.
Say your request out loud:
Show me what is “true for me”. I am open to the signs that I stumble upon.
Be on the look out for signs, they will be popping up everywhere. I see many of them while driving.

Recovering from Religion Support Groups:
Time to get out there and be social. Search your local meetups, put in your favorite hobbies. Go to a psychic fair. Go to a POW-WOW. Go to other churches in your area just to get a sample of all the varieties.
Go to Center for Spiritual Living, they are open to all faith traditions, atheists and pagans are welcome. They have affirmative prayers, using the Law of Attraction in prayer form. They are a very positive upbeat community.
Make a list of all the new things you will “try on” this week.
